Cardinal IP’s USPTO Contract Renewed

Cardinal IP’s USPTO Contract Renewed

In January 2012, Cardinal received a ten-year contract renewal from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to perform Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) search services.

The original contract was awarded in 2006. Cardinal is the only company to have provided search services in all technology areas for the entirety of the contract.

Brian Goddard, Director of IP Services, continues to manage the research team and provide quality control on all contract deliverables. In regards to the contract renewal, Goddard noted, “Cardinal is pleased with the opportunity to continue supporting the USPTO in their efforts to provide high-quality international searches and written opinions. We hold ourselves to very high performance standards, striving to meet and exceed the USPTO’s expectations. We are proud to play a part in the service of the worldwide innovation economy.”
