As Project Manager, Richard leads our team of nearly 40 highly trained electrical, computer sciences and communications research professionals that include registered patent attorneys, patent agents, and individuals with advanced technical degrees. Acting as a liaison between clients and search analysts, he defines the scope and price of searches, directs technologies to the appropriate analysts, and determines customized strategies for client search needs.
Richard has conducted thousands of searches for Cardinal assisting a wide range of clientele with patentability, invalidity, and clearance related matters. He has extensive knowledge in electrical and communications technologies including RFID, interference and noise mitigation, wireless applications, and various aspects of mobile devices including antennas, touchscreen, biometric sensors, and user interfaces. He is well-versed in all aspects of the patent process.
Richard earned his J.D. from Chapman University School of Law and his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California Irvine. Richard is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the California State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
